Faculty Recruitment Procedure – NIT Kolhapur

(For Diploma and Degree Engineering Wings)

1️ Registration & Application Submission

  • Recruitment notification is issued after approval from the Chairman and Director.
  • Candidates register through the official NIT Kolhapur portal /QR code or in person at the institute office on interview day at 9 am.
  • Required documents at registration (Original Documents and 3 Sets of Xerox Copies):
    • Application form (prescribed format)
    • Updated CV
    • Academic certificates (SSC, HSC, UG, PG, Ph.D.)
    • Experience certificates
    • Publications / patents (if any)
    • Photo ID and passport-size photographs
  • Registration entries are verified and acknowledged by the Recruitment Cell.

2️ Document Verification

  • Conducted by the Scrutiny Committee comprising administrative and academic members.
  • Verification includes:
    • Qualification as per AICTE / DBATU / MSBTE norms
    • Experience and service record validation
    • Original document cross-checking
    • Reservation and category certificate verification (if applicable)
  • Eligible candidates are shortlisted for the next stage.

3️ Technical Competency Test

  • Objective MCQ-based test based on core subject knowledge and applied engineering knowledge.

4️ Classroom Teaching Presentation

  • Shortlisted candidates deliver a 15–20 minute classroom presentation on a topic from their discipline.
  • Evaluation parameters:
    • Subject clarity and depth
    • Teaching methodology and communication skills
    • Use of instructional aids and pedagogy
    • Student engagement and clarity of explanation
  • Assessed by Head of Department and subject experts.

5️ Panel Interview

  • Conducted by the Selection Committee
  • Interview focuses on:
    • Technical expertise and research orientation
    • Institutional contribution potential
    • Professional ethics and leadership qualities
    • Vision for academic development

6️ Final Selection & Approval

  • Marks from Competency Test, Presentation, and Interview are consolidated.
  • The Selection Committee recommends candidates for appointment.

7️ Post-Selection Formalities

  • Submission of joining report and service documents.
  • Entry into Faculty Database for AICTE / DBATU / MSBTE compliance.
  • Orientation and induction program conducted for new faculty members.

Note – 

  1. The decision of the Local Selection Committee regarding shortlisting, evaluation, and final recommendation shall be final and binding.
  2. No TA/DA will be borne by the Institute for attending the recruitment process.
